SC Chronicles Series III: Post Revolutionary

This course showcases eMedia and ETV produced resources about South Carolina to assist educators in learning about our state’s history. Noted South Carolina historian Dr. Walter Edgar will discuss key issues in early SC History: Life and Culture in the New States 1786-1808, The Antebellum Period 1793-1822 and Southern Discontent 1830-1860. Participants will learn about Charles Pinckney, the Forgotten Founder who contributed to the birth of our nation and the construction of the Santee Canal. Participants will also view a program about the Grimke Sisters who spoke out at an early age against slavery.

This course is approved by the SC Department of Education for teachers holding SC teaching licenses to earn 20 renewal credits.
