This course showcases resources about South Carolina to assist educators in learning about our state’s history, geography, people, and culture. Noted South Carolina historian Dr. Walter Edgar will discuss key issues in early SC History. Experience an archeological adventure at the Topper dig site in Allendale County, learn about the rise and fall of rice-growing in South Carolina, and find out the true tales of treachery and villainy that occurred off the coast of South Carolina during the Golden Age of Piracy.
This course is approved by the SC Department of Education for teachers holding SC teaching licenses to earn 20 renewal credits.
